Austin Discovers Balloons

So Dakota loves to climb the Christmas trees, but he is really scared of helium-filled balloons. We decided to hang two balloons - one on each tree. Well, when the trees were put away until next Christmas and the balloons were still floating, we gave one to Austin. We're not sure, but we think he might like balloons.

Austin's Favorite Christmas Present

Austin got a car that Mommy and Daddy can push. He loves it! He giggles and laughs while revving the engine all throughout the house. As soon as Daddy figures out how to download the camcorder videos, he'll post those, too so you can see the rest of Christmas.

Apples and Oatmeal, mmmmmm!

Austin likes apple sauce and oatmeal so when we saw them together in the grocery store, we naturally thought that Austin would love the combination. Well....you'll see!

Hanging Out

Baby's First Temple Square Lights

Austin liked Trax, all the people (and there were lots and lots), and especially the lights! Christmas is pretty cool.

Bath Time at the New House

AHHHHH! At long last, we made it to our new house. Austin decided to try out the kitchen sink. It was much bigger than that old motel sink! Mom and Dad are gratefule just to have more space and we can both stand in the kitchen at the same time to watch Austin take a bath! Pictures of the new house will be posted shortly.

Baby's First Halloween

Giraffe Austin liked Halloween. He paraded around with the East Midvale Elementary kids and saw his good friend Ryan dressed as a monkey. Then he visited Grandma and Grandpa Viehweg and talked with cousin Keegs dressed as a knight. Austin especially liked the Skittles package he got from Grandpa V. Then he trick or treated at Grandma and Grandpa Jameson's. Grandma J. gave him a pumpkin sugar cookie that mean ole Dad and Mom ate for him. :)

Sink Baths

Typical of motel bathtubs, this one is difficult to reach when trying to bathe a baby. But the sink works well enough!

Cousin Keegs Comes to Visit

There's no cuter kids on earth (though one of them has exceptional taste in clothes - Go Cougs!). Ironically, this is a picture at the IMC hospital where Grandpa V. recovered from his 'heart incident.' It just goes to show that there are perfect photo ops no matter where you are.

Austin's First Camping Trip to Snow Canyon

Austin, Ben, Jen, and Uncle Brett went camping to Snow Canyon. Though pretty windy the last day, which made breaking camp extra fun, the trip was a blast. Austin loved the outdoors - especially the big tree in the campsite, playing with Uncle Brett, Daddy's big fires, and cuddling with Mommy in the early morning hours. Oh, and let's not forget the daily stroller naps in the shade. Snow Canyon rocks!

Meshy Fruit

This was Austin's first experience eating some cantaloupe out of the meshy gadget thingy that you can get at Target (thanks Nikki for the suggestion!).

Bye Bye to Austin's Room

Well, the condo was up for sale a total of three weeks when we got our offer. Ben put a fair amount of work into Austin's bedroom and he was a little sorry to see it go, but if it means a house with less stairs, he'll get over it! Ben will just have to do another room for the next rugrat (no, there's no pending news, but sooner or later...).

Austin Meets Eastmont

In August, Austin and Jen came for the grand tour of Ben's new school - Eastmont Middle. Of course, Austin got the biggest kick out of the biggest noisemaker in the school: the piano. But then again, maybe he has a little musical talent (though not inherited from his parents).
